About Me
Hi, I am Huimin Qu (瞿惠敏), a postdoctoral researcher at Caltech/IPAC, working with Dr. Andreas Faisst and Dr. Kyle Finner.
My current research focuses on developing SLETE, a tool for optimizing the extraction of photometry and spectroscopy of strong lens systems from Euclid data. Ultimately, I am interested in using these observations to understand the dark matter structure of galaxies and their evolution.
Previously, I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Sydney under the supervision of Prof. Geraint F. Lewis, where my research focused on Bayesian modeling of strong gravitational lens systems.
I am also a member of the AGEL collaboration, which spectroscopically confirms a diverse sample of gravitational lenses and provides high-resolution imaging for the study of galaxy structure and evolution.
More broadly, I am interested in developing and applying scalable inference techniques and statistical methodologies to extract physical information from complex astronomical data, with applications to galaxy evolution and cosmology.
